Five years ago, founders Galo Arellano (journalist and TV producer) and Arturo Ochoa (interior designer and award-winning architect) adopted Joy, just a week after unexpectedly losing Rokolin, their beloved 8-year-old Yorkie. His departure was devastating, and Joy's arrival brought light, joy and healing in the midst of that deep grief. That's why they named him “Joy.”
During their daily walks, Galo and Arturo faced many small challenges: carrying Joy in shopping malls, searching for dishes and containers to give him water or food, or picking up his waste without the proper implements. Many times they forgot or lost accessories, and little by little they realized they needed something more practical.
